The International Biomass Torrefaction Council (IBTC, part of AEBIOM) and IEA Bioenergy Task 40 are organising two workshops, both to be held in Rotterdam, The Netherlands in January 2016.
Cristina Calderon, IBTC General Manager, explains the importance of these events and why they could be relevant to you in this short video:
JAN 25th: “Technical and Handling Requirements for Torrefied Biomass in Small to Medium Applications – and Consequences for Biomass Trading”
JAN 26th: “Technical and Sustainability Requirements for Solid Biofuels for Co-Firing in Supercritical and Ultra-supercritical Coal Boilers – and consequences for Biomass Trading”
Why should you attend?
The key objective of these workshop is to develop a better understanding on fuel requirements and fuel possibilities by the individual actors in sourcing, processing and consumption of biomass by this allowing adjustment on both ends resulting in an increase of biomass traded for energy.
While the first workshop (JAN 25th) will focus on all applications that are not coal power plants, and will therefore be addressed to those who are interested in small to medium applications, the second one (JAN 26th) will explore the new challenges met in co-firing of refined solid biomass fuels in coal power plants.
Who should attend?
Representatives of torrefied biomass fuel producers, boiler manufacturers, gasification companies, heating and cooling equipment suppliers, logistics companies, biomass traders & others.
